Born in the deep south near the great Mississippi River, the second oldest of thirteen children, Rhona was raised by a single mother who did her best to get by. After her father was killed in Folsom Prison, every night Rhona would see  many men come to visit her mother and lay their money down.  At the age of 14, she ran away from home to escape her mothers abusive  men friends; She took off into the night with no money and just the clothes on her back with a dream of making it big in Memphis as a famous country singer. A dream that was sadly not realised with doors being slammed in her face being told she was too tall, her hair was too red and with a large manly frame she simply just didn't fit in, so she did what ever she could to get by. When Rhona turned 16, she met a man who would change her life, Billy-Bob Turner, a miner, pan handler and entrepreneur. Billy-Bob promised Rhona the world and for a time he kept his promise and moved them into his house deep in the blue mountains to be part of a small community. However, things soon turned bad for her, she got a lot of attention from all the young men who had a thing for tall heavy set women with flaming red hair to which Billy-Bob took grave exception. He took care of this by convincing Rhona that no other man would love a woman like her, old, used and saddled with 15 kids. He kept her in the house and never left her alone except for the odd hunting trip with the boys. It was on one of these occasions she seized her opportunity to escape; She raided the safe, grabbed all the cash, got the kids and ran. She then bought her and the kids passage to the real "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave"....... Scotland! 

Scotland was to be her salvation (or so she thought). Rhona and her kids settled in a little coastal resort where she rented a space for a Cafe; And so, Rhona's Roadkill Cafe was born, a little slice of America right here in the South West of Scotland. All was going well until the price of everything shot up, and so with the bills piling up Rhona was forced to do some creative thinking. She fired all the staff and got her kids to work in the cafe, in the kitchen, do the cleaning and anything else she could think of to cut costs and that was just the start of her creativity to making ends meet! 

Rhona's Roadkill Cafe is family run, but definitely not family friendly! (It’s not just the racoon dogs that are inbred!)

So a word of caution dear reader, nothing is as it seems in this little slice of America tucked away in South West Scotland where one woMAN truly believes she has made it!!
